Peanut Butter and Jelly Critters

This was a super fast, I have nothing in my cupboards kinda bento. I had made cut outs with  fruit roll ups then when I was trying to decide what to do with them the faces just kinda happened. The back box is pineapple and watermelon.

Sunny side up

This sunny little bento is scrambled eggs with a cheesy sunny daisy on top. The back box is purple chocolate chip pancakes and strawberries. Also there is a sparkly pink bear cupcake leftover from a party. This box was super fast to make and so tasty!

Curly Girl

Isn't she so cute? I love the little "peas" the best though!
She is made out of leftover lomain, and bread. Her little friends are peaches, strawberry Mochi, and 3 little Hello Kitty strawberry marshmallows that I drew little faces on with my food safe markers.

Baby, The Stars Shine Bright!

I love these little bento's and I loved watching Mr. Badger eat it even more! He was such a good sport about his cute lunch, and I had so much fun making them.
The are chicken teriyaki, saffron rice, sugar snap peas, with Miso soup for him and peaches for me. I had starmallows to put on my peaches and I completely forgot! Looking at this now it still annoys me that I forgot.

Usa-chen!!!

So I am slightly...a little bit...okay madly, insanely obsessed with Ouran High School Host Club. More specifically Usa-chen Honey Sempai's adorable and beloved stuffed bunny. I mean come on the thing blushes...blushes!!! How much cuter can you get? So when I tried my hand at egg sheets for the first time I knew just the character to go with, my favorite, adorable, and happily one color bunny! I think he turned out pretty well for a first try.

The food in this box is rather boring, Mac and Cheese, egg sheet, and carrot in the first box. The back box is peaches and pears jarred in their own juice and a PB and J heart sandwich.  It all tasted yummy though and that is what counts! Also you can see I just had to use my so cute dolly box again. I just love it!

Someone else loved it too!!!

Hurry up and hatch we want to play!

These impatient Chicks are waiting for their sister to hatch so they can go off and play. They are packed in my newest and favorite bento box! It is filled with ginger pork, island soyaki shrimp and sugar snap peas, snow peas, and carrots. The back has grapes, with starmallow flowers, and goldfish. The egg and gold fish were eaten later as a snack.
You can see the box better here. Isn't it just so cute? This is the box that got me in to bentoing in the first place!

Bear and Flower

Sorry for the not so great pic, and the ones coming my camera charger was lost for a bit and I had to use my phone for a bit. This yummy bento was filled with ginger chicken and sugar snap peas. Cherry tomatoes dot the scene and a the cute bear and his flower are Onigiri with boiled crab stick accent. The back box contains strawberries and kiwi including some that are cut in to cute shapes and hanging out on top!

Why did the tomato turn red?

He looked over the fence and saw Mr. Green Pea!

When I was about 7 this was my favorite joke. I apologize now to all the people I told it to a million times. When I started making my lunch that joke popped in to my head so I decided to theme my lunch after it. Yes, I know I need a life...and possibly professional help!
Inside the box are soft taco's made with leftovers from the night before. They were yummy!

An Octopuses Garden
I wanted to branch out beyond rice and this was my first real attempt at that. I wish I had colored the tortilla because I just don't think there is enough contrast between it and the Ham octopuses. Under the tortilla is some leftover mustard chicken, pasta with Parmesan and some green beans. I love the little octopus in the back I think the he knows he is about to be eaten.

The back box had strawberries and sugar snap peas (I could eat these everyday I think). I also slipped in some picks of rainbow mochi, yum!

Hello Bento

I was excited to put all my fun toys to work on my fourth bento. I loved using the Onigiri molds, much less sticky then using my hands.
The first of I am sure many Hello Kitty style bentos. This one is filled with Sugar Snap Peas, Chicken Teriyaki, and three little Onigiris. The accents are boiled crab stick, just the red part.
The back box had a garden full of happy little stars. Marshmallows, Raspberries, and Kiwi.

After my first two Bento attempts something very important came in the mail....
My very first order of Bento supplies!

Of course they showed up on the day I decided to turn my leftoevers in to my bento so I didn't get to go as wild with them as I had hoped until the next day. Surprisingly the leftover day took longer to make the other two. I had figured it would be faster.
Leftovers Bento included Chedderwurst Mice, Deviled Bear Eggs, Pizza Hearts, Animal Toasts in Jelly (that I never ate), Sugar Snap Peas under the mice and bears, and Skewers of Kiwi, Raspberry and Tomato.

Finally I will end with a quick (and badly taken) phone shot of how I store my supplies.
Each drawer has it's own category, The top is molds, then picks, then baran, then colors and some waxed cups for dividing, then cutters, then misc supplies. I have been bentoing for about 3 weeks and I think I already need more space!!!

Welcome to Bento Badger! I have never been a good blogger but I wanted to try and catalog my way through my Bento adventures! Ever since I took my hobbies, crafting and sewing, and turned them in to my job The Dancing Badger Co, I have been looking for a new hobby to fill some of my free time. Something fun and of course something creative. I waffled my way through many attempts before I alighted on something that really intrigued me, Kyaraben. The art of cute bento. I originally fell in love with the picture of a box my friend sent me, then as I started looking for more boxes I discovered a world of Bento Bloggers and it was love at first sight. These people were taking food and making it so amazingly cute I knew I had to try. Of course it would appeal to me as it took my love of all things cute and combined it with my love of cooking. A perfect Badger hobby. So hopefully you will enjoy reading, and looking at my trials and adventures as I travel my way through Bento land!
My very first, very sad little Bento!
And my second as proof that I am getting better!
